Canton girls’ swimmer wins state title

WEBSTER, New York (WWNY) - Saturday was a great day in the pool for Canton swimmer Gretchen Braun at the 2023 NYSPHSAA Girls Swimming Championships in Webster, NY.
The Watertown Savings Bank 7 News North Country Athlete of the Week award winner became the first Girls’ Section 10 Swimmer to win a State Title, winning the 100 Backstroke with a time of 55.46. In the process, she earned All-American consideration.
Braun also placed 3rd in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 51.10.
Congratulations to Gretchen Braun of Canton on making history in the pool for Section 10.
