Friday Sports: Indian River, General Brown, OFA football advance

PHILADELPHIA, New York (WWNY) - Playoff football in both Sections 3 and 10 were on the docket Friday night.

We start with the Section 3 Class B Semifinals from Philadelphia as Indian River hosted Central Valley Academy.

The Warriors strike first when Ethan Hattori scampers 48 yards for the touchdown: 6-0 Indian River.

In the 2nd quarter, it’s Hattori for his 2nd touchdown of the night, this one from 4 yards out to make it 12-0.

CVA gets on the board when Braden Moreau hooks up with Judd Deacon for the touchdown: 12-6 Indian River.

Indian River beats CVA 18-14 to advance to the Class B final.

Carthage took on New Hartford in the other Class B Semifinal.

In the 1st quarter, the Spartans go to their workhorse as Cole Raux weaves and then trucks his way in for the score: New Hartford up 7-0.

With 3:00 left in the first, Carthage responds. It was Kalel Tevaga with a nice piece of running, takes it down to the three.

From there, Geremiah Ademola-Sadipe is able to punch it in to tie things up at 7-7.

11:24 in the 2nd quarter, Cole Raux would not be denied: 14-7 Spartans.

New Hartford beats Carthage 36-7, ending Carthage’s post-season run.

In the Section 3 Class C Semifinals from Dexter, General Brown met Skaneateles.

In the 1st quarter, the Lions take the lead when Aiden McManaman hits Ryan Chamberlain for the touchdown: 6-0 General Brown.

In the 2nd quarter, the Lions add to their lead when Douglas Jarvie breaks tackles and goes in from 19 yards out: 12-0 Lions.

Then it was Cam Thomas finding a hole up the middle for a 7 yard run: 18-0 General Brown.

Just before halftime, Thomas connects with Bennett Eichhorn for the 3 yard touchdown: 25-0 General Brown.

The Lions move on to the Class C Final with a 39-14 win.

In the Section 10 Class B Football Championship, Ogdensburg hosted Potsdam.

OFA’s first drive inside the Red Zone is cut short on an Ian VanWagner pickoff, but Potsdam is unable to cash in.

After a scoreless first quarter, Carson Ramie was on a left-side sweep. He stumbles but still scores the game’s first touchdown on a five-yard run.

Parker Murray is good on the extra-point kick: 7-0 OFA.

Late in the second quarter, Andrew Loffler takes the handoff, diving over the top.

Another look at the diving touchdown: 14-0 Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils added to the lead in the third quarter when quarterback Madden West calls his own number, drilling up the middle on a four-yard run: 20-0 OFA.

Then Andrew Loffler sprints 35 yards to the house to conclude the scoring.

OFA blanks Potsdam 27-0.
