(WWNY) - Semi- and quarterfinals were on the pitch Tuesday.

We begin on the pitch at the high school level, as Lowville battled CBA at South Jefferson in a girls’ Section III Class B soccer semifinal.

- Samantha Reynolds is in goal for the Raiders. In one play, she gets some help from the crossbar and then gathers in the loose ball.

- At the other end, Cara Macaluso comes up with the save for CBA.

These two teams played a tough, tight battle. CBA went on to beat Lowville 2-1.

Top-seeded Canton hosted Potsdam in a girls’ Section X Class B soccer semifinal.

- Still scoreless in overtime: Canton dominates with a break for Emily Estabrooks, but her shot goes wide right.

- Olivia Sommerstein passes to Winny Downs for the blast, off keeper Lola Buckley and over the net.

- Downs again on a direct kick, but again the save.

- Potsdam’s one chance in the OT: Taylor LaBarge gets an opening and ripples the mesh for the sudden victory.

The Sandstoners won 1-0 and advance to the Class B final vs. Salmon River.

It was Lisbon vs. Harrisville in a boys’ Section X Class D soccer quarterfinal.

- The Knights’ Cooper Rutherford to Ty Jacobs for the shot. Nolan Sullivan dives for the save.

- Jacobs blasts a shot just over the crossbar.

- Rutherford splits the “D” and lasers the shot for Lisbon’s third goal.

The Golden Knights beat Harrisville 5-0 and advance to face rival Heuvelton in the Class D semifinals.

Parishville-Hopkinton entertained Edwards-Knox.

- Twenty seconds in, Panthers set the tone as Avery Zenger touches the ball to Joe Guiney, who gathers the deflection and scores. It’s 1-0 P-H.

- The Cougars try to neutralize the lead: Shane LaPoint to Josh Bailey, who misses just wide.

- Zenger, who had three goals and three assists, is stopped by E-K’s Dawson Matthews.

- Off Nate Phippen’s corner kick, Ryan Griffith delivers the header under the crossbar.

Panthers go on to beat Edwards-Knox 8-0 and will now face Chateaugay in the Class D semifinals.

Heuvelton was at Colton-Pierrepont

- At 2:28 into the second half, Tristan Biller to Parker Felt, then Reid Doyle for the redirect. The header bounces just inside the left post. It’s 1-0 Bulldogs.

- With Colts, desperate for the equalizer, Josh Fallik shoots, but Brodey Kelley saves.

- In the final seconds, a corner kick to the far post rattles in the crease. Tyler Lovely and Colts goalie Nate Smith try to score, but time runs out on the Colts.

Heuvelton won 1-0 and advances to face Lisbon in the Class D semifinals.

In women’s college soccer, a Region 3 semifinal, Jefferson with two first-half goals.

The Cannoneers make it stand. Jefferson defeated Genesee 2-0.
