THERESA, New York (WWNY) - Margaret Lillian (Robinson) Brown, 91, peacefully passed away on November 19, 2023 in Syracuse, NY.

Born on September 1, 1932 at the Theresa Hospital, Theresa, NY as the only child to Frederick and Mary (Hill) Robinson. She was a 1949 graduate of Evans Mills High School and the Watertown School of Commerce in 1950.

Margaret shared her diverse secretarial and printing skills with many companies throughout her life, starting with the Eagle Tobacco and CC Candy Company in 1950, with her next seven years at the New York Air Brake. Other places of employment included: Hartman Advertising Agency, Utica Mutual, Black Clawson, American Process and Hungerford Holbrook in Watertown. She ran a varitype business out of her home from 1963-70. Margaret co-owned a printing business for a few years with her husband, Terry A. Brown of 24 years. In 1976 she started at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co where she worked on and off for the next 15 years. Margaret was also employed by the DeLand Sun News in Florida, and retired in 1990 from Nationwide Insurance.

Margaret was very active and held offices in several social groups: North Syracuse Jaycettes, Jaynceens District, the Elks Auxiliary, Parents Without Partners and One Parent Family Council. She enjoyed volunteering with the Red Cross Blood Mobile, the New York State Fair, Ronald McDonald House, NY Election Polls, Cicero Library as well as various telethons and job-a-thons.

She loved to bowl, swim, play golf and bridge, as well as many other games with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to Bermuda, Aruba, Hawaii, Florida, Alaska, Antigua as well as a trip to England with her parents in 1981 to visit their places of origin.

Margaret was predeceased by both of her parents; her oldest daughter, Terilyn Ann Bourdon; her grandson, Nathan James Miller; her companion, Jeffrey Crawshaw of 20+ years; and her ex-husband, Terry Alvin Brown.

She leaves behind her daughters: Robyn Mary Miller and Tammi Lynn Brown; two granddaughters: Chelsey Lynn (Andrew) Card and Kasey Jane Miller; her grandson Kyle John Bourdon; her great-grandchildren: Evelynn Marie Card and Masyn Kenneth Card.

A private ceremony will take place at the Sanford Corners Cemetery in Calcium, NY for her internment, Spring 2024.
