EDWARDS, New York (WWNY) - Tony Lee Bartocha, age 49, of Edwards, passed away on November 15, 2023 at home.

Calling hours will be held at French Funeral Home in Edwards on Sunday, November 19, 2023 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. His funeral service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.

Tony was born on March 31, 1974 in Norwich, CT to Frank Bartocha and Mary Walrath. He attended Plainfield High School in Plainfield, CT and was on the Plainfield High football team where he played in a left tackle position, with his team being undefeated and State Champions in 1992 and was given the nickname, Lurch. His senior year he attended and graduated from Edwards Knox Central School in 1993. Marriages to Melissa Barkley and Micah Klossner ended in divorce.

Tony worked as a miner all over the country for most of his career. Recently he had been working at Sunmount in Tupper Lake. He was a hard worker who also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping in his younger days. Tony had a great sense of humor and would give the shirt off his back to anybody who needed it. Above all else, Tony was a family man. He loved his children and family more than anything.

He is survived by his father, Frank Bartocha, his mother, Mary Robinson and her companion, David Ketchum, his children, Makayla Pendleton and her husband, Evan, Kaleb Bartocha and his wife, Alivia, Crimson, Jamis, and Everett, his step-son, Elijah Klossner, his grandchildren, Charlie and Finley, and his sisters, Christina Bartocha and Lisa Libby and her husband, Brad. Tony is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Tony is predeceased by his brother, Timothy J. Bartocha.
